No! No! and No, again. The CDC has no cases on record of any one ever getting sick from granite. In addition the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, as well as the Hospitality Industry, give granite a clean bill of health. In fact in a study done by the Hospitality Industry of Six different countertops granite came out on top when cleaning with detergent and hot water. Granite came in second when cleaning with a vinegar solution. (Who has that kind of time?) For more information on this study click here: http://www.hi-tm.com/Documents/Countertops.html
Results: These are shown in order of how much E-coli remained on the counter surface after cleaning. (most e-coli to least e-coli)
